Who are we? We are DFW Pug Rescue Club! We are a 501 (c)(3) non-profit, all-volunteer organization dedicated to the rescue and placement of Pugs in need. Our mission is to rescue neglected, homeless, unwanted, sick or injured Pugs, rehabilitate them and place them in loving, permanent homes in the surrounding Dallas/Fort Worth area.
DFWPRC is the largest pug rescue organization in the United States and has rescued and placed over 4,800 huggable, squeezable, absolutely adorable pugs — we rescue approximately 10 pugs a week. We rescue ALL pugs regardless of age or medical condition. Since we rescue ALL pugs, our veterinary care is our biggest on-going expense and we average approximately $100,000 a year in veterinary expenses. This amount is after our veterinary care clinics provide deep discounts. 100% of all funds donated to DFW Pug Rescue are used to pay for Veterinary care. All pugs rescued by DFWPRC are taken immediately to the vet where they are examined, tested (and treated) for heartworm, vaccinated, micro-chipped, sterilized, and rabies shots administered before being placed in a foster or permanent home. We strive to educate the public about the Pug dog breed, to encourage responsible pet ownership, and to see to it that any Pug that comes through our rescue ends up in a
caring, committed environment.
In the past 12 years we have rescued, rehomed, relocated and rehabilitated over 4,800 pugs. And while we celebrate our many success stories, we still must confront the challenge of our current economic crisis. We are taking in unprecedented numbers of pugs over the last year. We continue to have over 80 dogs in foster homes waiting for forever families. The list of people wanting to surrender their dogs continues to grow. Economic problems are bringing DFW Pug Rescue Club even more owner surrendered pugs, especially those with special needs. If we are to be able to take all the pugs who need to come into rescue, then we need help!
We maintain a Certificate of Good Standing with the Texas State Comptroller’s Office. DFW Pug Rescue Club, Inc. is a non-profit corporation with Federal Tax Exemption as a public charity under Section 501 (c) 3 of the Internal Revenue Code. DFWPRC is not affiliated or sponsored by any national or local breed clubs.
Please consider helping us in this challenge and let us continue to do our job and help these precious babies. With your support, we can make a difference in the lives of these pugs and the future of the animal population. Visit our website at
